New red tees, etc

For the last month or so we've been working to install tee pads on the red tees!

We've always had the shorter red tees but no one has been playing them, probably because they were poorly marked.  Here's a little slideshow of the course from the just-finished red tees:

We had a lot of fun with this.  Some of the holes needed to be redesigned because, well, the original red tees just kind of sucked (we never really played them).  Now there are some pretty interesting holes, and twice as many ways to play the course!  My favorite re-designs are hole 11, a real challenge entering the fairway near the left side of the blue-tee landing zone, and hole 15 in which we used a fairway that had almost become the original blue tee.

Just about anyone can enjoy the 'red' tees (you do not have to be a beginner).  If you don't have much time, you can play the red tees in about two hours.

In other news: there will be a mini tournament here tomorrow, Jan 1, 2012 at about 10am.  It is being run by Dave from Fly Ink.  This is a warm-up event for the real deal which will be announced here soon.  (Hint: you might want to hold Saturday, Jan 28th 2012 open on your calendar.  And you may also want to check on your camping gear)
